''The stories did not seem so well thought of like it was in the first movie.''

Trilogy of terror 2: Three short stories, the first one about a woman trying to get rid of her older husband for her lover. The second about a mother that misses her dead son so much that she brings him back. The third one is about the Zuni doll and it is still thirsty for blood. 

 

 

This sequel was not nearly as good as the first one. The stories did not seem so well thought of like it was in the first movie. The stories did not capture me at all. The third story included the Zuni doll killer and it began just where the other had left of, but everything that happened in the first one also happened in this one and I mean exact moves and scenes, which was just repetetive and boring. I was so excited for the Zuni doll story and I was dissapointed, because it was done so beautifully and creative in the first one, but the opposite in this, such a shame. 

 

 

 

''I had imagined a very different movie when I read the title''

 

A virgin among the living dead: A young women travels to see her relatives to get her heritage that was left to her, but she soon realises that everyone is actually a living dead creature. 

 

There were some good moments, the ending was pretty good and the last shot was nice, but for the most part this movie was boring and not enough blood to make it work. I had imagined a very different movie when I read the title and sadly I was dissapointed. The cinematography was okey, but the story was not intriguing and I mostly wanted the movie to end. I will give Jesus Franco more chances even though the movies I have seen from him haven't wanted me to watch more.

Trilogy of terror: Contains three short films that all star Karen Black. The first one is about an obsessed student that blackmails his teacher. The second is about two sisters that do not get along. The third and final one is about a Zuni doll that tries to kill Karen Black. 

 

This film consists of three shortfilms all starring Karen Black as the leading role, which was a very good decision. The first two stories were okey, well written and thought out, the endings were the best and Karen Black acted really well. The third story however is the one that really shines because of the crazy Zuni doll that is trying to kill Karen Black in any way he can and I really liked the ending in that one aswell. To my enjoyment I found out that a sequel had been made and I will review it next time.

Two thousand Maniacs!: A few young people have to take a detour and wind up in the town Pleasentvalley and decide to spend the night there, but they soon realise that the town is very strange and that it is best to just leave before everything turns into a living hell. 

 

 

 

I really loved 2001 Maniacs and I had always wanted to see the original from 1964 and finally after many years I did and I was not dissapointed. The cinematography was charming and fitted the film perfectly and inhanced the terror. There could have been more gorescenes, but I liked that they were creative with the ones they had. It is too bad that this one was a bit short and did not include the feast that the remake included, because I had really loved to see the feast.Lewis has been critized for his stories and that they are not well thought out, but this story is really intriguing and I have nothing negativa to say about it, other than that I wished it had been longer, so I guess that is positive. 

 

The Godfather of Gore

 

Herschell Gordon ''The Godfather of gore'' Lewis has been a huge inspiration for me, mostly because he dared to go to places in filmmaking where others would not and he often got critized, but he always kept doing what he liked to. He got the nickname The Godfather of gore because, supposedly he made the first gorefilm ever, Blood Feast, but many argues that he was not the first. If you are a gorehound and really want to see how it all started, check out H.G Lewis work and see how it was then and compare it to today, many of the effects back then are way better and real than today. The best film of H.G Lewis is Two Thousand Maniacs! You might recognize that title, since it got a remake called 2001 Maniacs, starring Robert Englund as Mayor Buckman. 

 

''yes he is a psycho WE GET IT!''

 

I don't usually write about tv-series, but I felt like it after watching the first episode of ''From dusk til dawn''. I really liked the movie and how it transformed from a roadmovie to a crazy vampire goremovie, but I was sceptical about this series. First of all I thought, why? Is this show even necessary? But I am a person that gives movies and show atleast a chance, no matter what it is and how bad I think it is going to be. I will spoil a few things, so if you do not want any spoilers, stop reading NOW. 

 

 

I was curious as how this show was going to play out and what they would focus on, the first episode focuses on the incident at the store, which happened kind of quick in the movie. I must say that I prefer the movie version of what happened in the store, this episode dragged it out to far and tried really to explain the brother's actions way to much and I just thought, yes he is a psycho WE GET IT! Well I am not super interested in watching another episode, but I probably will anyway, just to have watched it and to see if it gets any better.

Kill the Rapist is a rape/revenge movie from India and the trailer looks really good and asks an important question. You, the viewer can decide the fate ofthe rapist. I really want to see the movie and the title is really good and one people will remember in this subgenre.  ''I really wanted to know what was going on in the movie and never found it boring''

 

Cheerleader Camp: Allison dreams of winning a cheerleader competition at camp Hurrah, but she begins having nightmares and hallucinations and people go missing, is someone killing her friends or is it all in her head? 

 

Cheerleader camp was a bit slow at times, but it had some good nightmare scenes and some creativity with pom-poms. The acting might not have been the best, but Betsy Russell did a good job as the maincharacter Allison. I really wanted to know what was going on in the movie and never found it boring. It doesn't stand out like Friday the 13th or Halloween did, but it has a charm of its own. There are some good bloody scenes and Cheerleader camp is worth a watch, especially if you like slasherfilms.

 

 

 ''I would have liked to know even more about what was happening to Samantha''

 

Contracted: A young woman goes to a party and meets a man there who she then has sex with, she wakes up next day feeling ill and thinking that she has contracted and STD, but the case might even be more serious than that. 

 

 

Girl meets boy, girl has unprotected sex with boy, girl gets and STD from the boy...or does she? Contracted started out intresting and I think they build up all the events in this film in the right way to always keep me curious about what was happening with the main character. I would have liked to know even more about what was happening to Samantha, but the build up scene by scene was done well. I liked the ending and this one gets a 3+ from me. All the details that were changing were well thought out, but it coud have been even gorier. 

 

 

I found most of the movie boring and the pace could have been faster

 

Mischief Night: A blind woman is left alone in her house where she lives with her dad and thinks that it will be an ordinary weekend, but the night will be anything but ordinary when she is forced to deal with someone breaking into her house.

 

 

I like home invasion movies and it has really become a popular subgenre in horrorfilm. I found this movie interesting because the maincharacter is blind and I was excited to see how she would deal with that while someone was in her house, trying to kill her. I found most of the movie boring and the pace could have been faster and more intense, but there was one scene that I really liked and it involved a chainsaw. There is always something really unsettling about having someone uninvited in your house and that is a plot that you can work with in so many ways. 

 

 

''Another thing is that Sissy Spacek was perfect for Carrie and Moretz did a good job, but nobody can play Carrie like Spacek did''

 

I was really looking forward to seeing the remake of the Classic horrormovie Carrie. I really like the original and wanted to see what they would do with the remake and I can honestly say that they did what they could, but it just was not enough, even if they had changed som things in the script, I do not Think it would have made any improvement. The remake is like the original, the difference is that they have added som new things, like flying..what? Another thing is that Sissy Spacek was perfect for Carrie and Moretz did a good job, but nobody can play Carrie like Spacek did. This remake was okey, but it does not come Close to the original Carrie.

 

''This movie is visually stunning and I liked the pace of the movie.''

 

Berberian Sound Studio: In the 1970's a Brittish soundtechnitian is send to Italy to work on the soundeffects for a horrormovie, but the job has serious effects on the technitian and he is forced to deal with memories from his past. 

 

 

I really liked the intro for this movie, very stylish and well made and made me think of old Giallomovies. It is set in the 70's in Italy and it adds a certain feeling which I love. I myself am a filmmaker and know the importance of good soundeffects and this movie really made me want to do more movies and to make great soundeffects. This movie is visually stunning and I liked the pace of the movie. Unfortunately I thought that much more was going to happen and that the movie would focus a bit more on horror and having a scary atmosphere, instead the film almost gets good, but just misses the mark and gets a three out of five. 

 

''The big problem with this movie is that it is boring for the most part''

The Innkeepers: Two employees at an hotell are working there for the last time, because after the weekend the hotell is closing. They are into the paranormal and decide to go ghosthunting one night because they have heard a particular story about the hotell.

 

 

I really liked Ti West's The House of the Devil and I was looking forward to see The Innkeepers. The big problem with this movie is that it is boring for the most part and when things start to happen, it stops pretty quickly and it never gets exciting. I like Sara Paxton, she does a good job, but I don't like the ending and I think that a lot more should have been going on in the last 20-30 minutes. I got a feeling of creepiness in the beginning and was hoping that feeling would stick with me throughout the movie, but unfortunately it didn't. 

 

 

''I like the fact that no one remembers anything, it makes the movie a bit more exciting''

 

Open Grave: A man wakes up in an open grave and have no recollection of how he got there. He must then begin a journey to find out if one of the ones who saved him is a killer or if it he himself who is the killer. 

 

 

Open Grave reminded me alot of my shortfilm Man in the Forest because it opens up with a man that wakes up outside in an open grave and have no memories of how he got there. It started out good and confusing, which a movie should be, I like the fact that I have no ieda what is going on and hopefully I will understand it once it is done (with the exception of a movie by David Lynch, where I get almost nothing, but it is still awesome). After the man from the beginning gets to a house and other characters are introduced, the movie gets a bit boring. I like the fact that no one remembers anything, it makes the movie a bit more exciting, because you don't know who to trust. In the end this movie could have had alot more gore and taken better turns with the screenplay, but it had a few good scenes (the one with the fence was one amongst the good ones) and it had som boring ones aswell.

 Jag tycker att filmen verkar riktigt lovande och skruvad. Första filmen var underbar och denna ser ut att bli minst lika bra. 

 

 

Denna Arrow utgåva av Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 är riktigt snygg och fullpackad med extramaterial. Jag hoppas kunna få tag på denna under 2014.

Jag är väldigt sugen på att se ''femte'' filmen i denna skräckserie och efter att ha sett trailerna så är jag ännu mer sugen. Denna känns lite annorlunda än dom andra. Här är en recension av Bloody-disgusting som ni kan läsa.

 

 Handling: Efter att Jesse, tillsammans med sina kompisar, tagit sig in i en mördad kvinnas lägenhet så uppstår ett oförklarligt märke på hans arm. Detta är bara början på en helvetesresa. Jesse är märkt och förföljs av mörka krafter som vill honom illa.

Eli Roths nya film The Green Inferno är en film jag ser fram emot att få se år 2014. Det var längesedan en film i subgenren Kannibalfilm gjordes och denna film känns som något som liknar Cannibal Holocaust och dom typerna av kannibalfilmerna. Jag har fått höra att det är väldigt mycket gore och starka scener i filmen. Dom som har lyckats få se en förhandsvisning har gillat filmen och The Green Inferno har fått bra recensioner. 

 

Handling: En grupp studenter och miljöaktivister från New York reser till en avlägsen del av Perus djungel för att iscensätta en protestaktion. Men när de stöter på en stam med kannibaler tvingas de snart kämpa för sina liv.

 

''Tyvärr är den inte i klass med filmer som I spit on your grave och The Last house on the left''

 

Girls against boys: Shae och Lulu är vå bartenders som tar ut sin hämnd mot män som har behandlat dem illa.

 

En film i genren Rape/Revenge som är en subgenre som jag gillar väldigt mycket. Våldtäkten sker off-screen, eller ja det är mer en indikation på en våldtäkt, man får det aldrig riktigt bekräftad, men som tittare så ska man anta att det är vad som händer, så här finns ingen otäck våldtäkt som man måste sitta igenom och titta på, men en del otäcka scener finns. Jag gillar relationen mellan de två huvudkaraktärerna och hur den ena karaktären reflekterar hur hon känner efter att dom har begått en del saker, vilket det ofta fattas i filmer från denna subgenre. Oftast så hämnas huvudkaraktären och sen är det slut, men här är det inte riktigt så, utan filmen fortsätter en bit för att följa kvinnornas utveckling efteråt och det gillade jag. Tyvärr är den inte i klass med filmer som I spit on your grave och The Last house on the left för att den jag tycker att spänningen och intensiteten saknades. Det var också allt för korta hämndscener och ofta involverade dom pistoler, vilket var tråkigt.
