Burying the Ex

Hi everyone!♡

"The story is funny and the special effects were really nice"

Burying the Ex: A guy's regrets over moving in with his girlfriend are compounded when she dies and comes back as a zombie.

Alexandra Daddario has quickly become one of my favorite actresses and I was really looking forward to seeing her in Burying the Ex. The story is funny and the special effects were really nice, especially creating the decomposing body of Ashley Green. This whole movie had so many moments of pure awkwardness between the characters that is was hard to watch sometimes, but that was a good thing.

Scream - Series S01E01

Hi everyone!♡

"The series feels just like the movies did when  I was young"

ScreamWhat starts as a YouTube video going viral soon leads to problems for the teenagers of Lakewood and serves as the catalyst for a murder that opens up a window to the town's troubled past.

It is interesting that in the series, the school discusses about slashers not being able to make a good series, but is that true? I am a huge fan of the Scream films and when I mean huge I mean that I used to watch them all the time when I was 11-12 years old. I was obsessed and knew everything about them and even read the scripts for the films. I was super excited to hear about the tv-series, but was a bit dissapointed when I saw a picture of Ghostface, of the mask.

The series feels just like the movies did when I was young and it definitely has a Scream feeling to it, even without the original Ghostface. This series takes me back and has the typical slasher elements. I am interested in the characters and there is some blood! I am starting to get used to the new look of Ghostface and can not wait to watch more episodes.

Four flies on grey velvet

Hi everyone!♥

Four flies on grey velvet is everything you expect from a Dario Argento movie

Four flies on grey velvet: A musician is stalked by an unknown killer who's blackmailing him for an accidential killing of another stalker. But is everything what it appears to be?

Four flies on grey velvet is everything you expect from a Dario Argento movie. It is beautiful, bloody and keeps you guessing until the end to what is really going on. The story is intriguing and the solution to try and catch the killer is genious. The use of dolls was very clever, just like in Profondo Rosso. Suspiria is still my favorite Dario Argento film, bit Four flies on grey velvet is very good.

House on the edge of the park

Hi everyone!♡

"The opening song gave a creepy effect"

House on the edge of the park: Two low-life punks invite themselves to a party at a posh villa and after being taunted by their snobbish hosts, hold everyone hostage and subject them to various forms of torture and mayhem.

I also rewatched this movie at the festival in Alingsås and this one was better than I remembered. The opening song gave a creepy effect and I liked it whenever it was played throughout the movie. Hess was creepy as always and the use of razorblades was a nice touch.

Zombie Holocaust

Hi everyone!♡

"The special effects were better than I remembered, but everything else was really bad."

Zombie Holocaust: The members of an expedition in search for the last faithful of Kito, the cannibal god, land on a small island in the Moluccas (East Indies) and are soon hunted by cannibals and zombies, these being created by a sinister Doctor O'Brien who is experimenting with corpses. Suzan, a sexy lady in the expedition team, eventually takes a hold on things, as she is accepted as queen of the cannibals, and direct them against the mad scientist and his army of zombies.

I saw this movie for the first time many years ago and now I rewatched it again at the filmfestival in Alingsås and it was equally awful this time around. The special effects were better than I remembered, but everything else was really bad.

There is one scene in which a character jumps out of a window and his arm tears away from his body when he hits the ground, but in the next shot the arm is still there and it is like nothing happened. This movie could have been great with some changes to the script. The zombies were really ugly and some only had makeup on their face, but not on the arms.

The Pyramid

Hi everyone!♡

"it does not stand out from the rest of the found footage films"

The PyramidAn archaeological team attempts to unlock the secrets of a lost pyramid only to find themselves hunted by an insidious creature.

This one starts of pretty boring and yes it is another found footage movie. Pyramids and Egypt does interest me and I was still curious to what the rest of the movie had to offer. The best thing about The Pyramidis the last twenty minutes, because we got to see the creature a lot more and it was pretty cool, but the rest of the movie was too boring and it does not stand out from the rest of the found footage films.

Cannibal Fog

Hi everyone!♡

"The second half of the film was better than the first"

Cannibal Fog: Michael is living a life filled with sex, porn and baked beans. One day he discovers the pleasure of eating human flesh and after that he gets hooked on finding that feeling again.

I was very intrigued by the plot and found myself laughing throughout the whole movie. The movie focuses a lot on food and about the 1-3-5 rules of Cannibalism, which is a nice detail. The second half of the film was better than the first. The music was fitted the movie very well and the berserk biting scenes towards the end were my favorites. Cannibal Fog gets a strong 3.

Just ordered Nekromantik Arrow edition

Hi everyone!♡

I just ordered Nekromantik Arrow edition with a really cool front.

Nekromantik: A street sweeper who cleans up after grisly accidents brings home a full corpse for him and his wife to enjoy sexually, but is dismayed to see that his wife prefers the corpse over him.

Serial mom

Hi everyone!

"Serial mom is filled with dark humor and the story takes some unexpected turns"

Serial mom: A sweet mother takes a little too much at heart for the defence of her family.

Serial mom is filled with dark humor and the story takes some unexpected turns. Kathleen Turner's character is so crazy and unbelievable. The court scenes are probably my favorite in the entire film and the ending is great. The prank calls are very funny and serial mom takes things too far, but in a funny way.

Girlhouse

Hi everyone!

"This may not be the most original slasher in modern horror, but it was fun"

Girlhouse: A HALLOWEEN-style slasher for the digital age, it follows a beautiful young college student who, needing money for tuition, moves into a house that streams content to an X-rated website. After a deranged fan hacks in to determine the house's location, she finds herself in a terrifying fight for her life.

I was very introgued by the plot of Girlhouse and thought it could be a good slasherfilm. It was surprising to see Nicole, the America's next top model season 13 star in this film, but it was a pleasent surprise.

This may not be the most original slasher in modern horror, but it was fun and I liked the suspense and the gore scenes. With a little more original take on the script, this movie would have gotten an even higher svore, but you do not want to miss girlhouse.

Muck

Hi everyone!

"Muck offers nothing new to the genre"

MuckAfter narrowly escaping an ancient burial ground, a group of friends find themselves trapped between two evils, forcing them to fight, die, or go back the way they came.

Everything was pretty bad in this film, except for a few nice ass shots. Muck offers nothing new to the genre and the story and acting could have been improved upon. This film had lots of potential, but threw it all away. There are a few gore scenes, but a lot more fun details regarding deaths and gore scenes could have been made.

Nightmare (2012)

Hi everyone!

The problem with Nightmare is that it is made out to be a slasherfilm, but a really boring one

Nightmare: Newlyweds Peppi and Sergey are celebrating their honeymoon at a ship, but their friends are going missing and soon Peppi is fighting for her life.

The last two films that I have seen has been Nightmare & Nightmare 2, two horrorfilms from Finland. The problem with Nightmare is that it is made out to be a slasherfilm, but a really boring one. The deaths are not creative at all and that mysterious and intriguing feeling that most slasherfilms have, is totally gone.

Hayride 2

Hi everyone!♥

"Hayride 2 feels almost like Halloween 2 it begins right where the first one ended"

Hayride 2: The end of one journey only marks the beginning of another as Detective Loomis returns to uncover the truth behind the Legend of Pitchfork.

Hayride 2 feels almost like Halloween 2 it begins right where the first one ended, with the victims going to the hospital and the killer going to the hospital and finds them there, after second thought it sounds EXACTLY like Halloween 2, but not as good. The first one was a bit better, but this one had a bit better cinematography. The gore was okay, not too many creative deathscenes, but I am guessing they were working with a low budget and getting lots of gore is really expensive, but there are ways to work around that. The ending was expected and I still can not decide if Pitchfork is a character I want to continue following or not, he feels like an oversized Jason Voorhees, but not as interesting, he even has that bag over his head with holes for the eyes and many people will feel like it is a Friday the 13th part 2 rip-off.

Hayride

Hi everyone!♥

"The use of the pitchfork was a nice touch, but this one does not stand out amongst the other slasher films"

Hayride: A college student returning home for Halloween is forced to face his childhood fears when an escaped killer takes refuge in his family's "Haunted Hayride".

I have now watched Hayride and Hayride 2, two slasherfilmes and I am sure that this will be a beginning of a slasherseries like Friday the 13th, but not as good. Hayride evolves around the story of Pitchfork, a killer on a killingspree searching for his daughter who ran away with her boyfriend or so the legend is told. The flashbacks could have been done better, but I must admit that I did not see the ending coming, I was sure of one thing and then it changed completely. The use of the pitchfork was a nice touch, but this one does not stand out amongst the other slasher films and is not as good as those from the 80's, but Hayride is worth a watch and I would not mind if several more Hayride movies were made because I am sure that Pitchforks story could evolve and be more interesting.

Friday the 13th

Hi everyone!♥

Happy friday the 13th!

Friday the 13th movies will always have a special place in my heart. I grew up watching them every summer and I really like them and Jason Voorhees is brilliant, even though it was Mrs. Voorhees who did the killing in the first one. So let's do a list of the five best movies from the Friday the 13th series.

1. Friday the 13th (1980)

2. Friday the 13th part 4

3. Jason X

4. Friday the 13th part 8

5. Friday the 13th part 2

I do like the other ones aswell, the only one I have a problem with is Friday th 13th 5 and if you have seen the movie, you wil understand why, it is almost the same problem that I have with Halloween 3. How would your list be if you had to choose?

Lord of illusions

Hi everyone!♥

"This film had some cool ideas, but it also seemed that it had too many of them"

Lord of Illusions: During a routine case in L.A., NY private investigator Harry D'Amour stumbles over members of a fanatic cult, who are waiting for the resurrection of their leader Nix. 13 years ago, Nix was calmed down by his best trainee Swann. In the meantime Swann is advanced to a popular illusionist like David Copperfield and is married to the charming Dorothea. She hires D'Amour to protect Swann against the evil cult members. A short time later Swann is killed by one of his own tricks and the occurrences are turning over, and it crackles between Dorothea and D'Amour.

Clive Barker is a great writer and I was surprised not to have seen Lord of Illusions before. This film had some cool ideas, but it also seemed that it had too many of them. Hellraiser was a pretty clean movie and did not side track so much, but Lord of Illusions tried to go in many different ways and it seemed messy. I liked the gore and the creativity, but I can understand why so many were dissapointed with this one.

Clown

Hi everyone!♥

"The way that the clown was transformering really impressed me"

Clown: A loving father finds a clown suit for his son's birthday party, only to realize the suit is part of an evil curse that turns its wearer into a killer.

I had been waiting to see this one for a long time and it was worth the wait. The idea was really cool and the way that the clown was transforming really impressed me. This is a mean film, especially towards the young victims and there was no comedy in this one, so it is a bit different from Stitches. So if you are expecting Clown to be something like Stitches, you will be dissapointed because this one is much darker.

Sharknado 2: The Second one

Hi everyone!♥

"I expected Sharknado to be really dull and stupid, but it was actually funny and entertaining"

Sharknado 2: The Second one: A freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished, iconic sites - and only Fin and April can save the Big Apple.

I expected Sharknado to be really dull and stupid, but it was actually funny and entertaining, sure some cheesy lines and predictable scene, but I laughed through the whole thing and it made me think that I have to rewatch the first one. The last 20 minutes are the best ones, with flying sharks, chainsaws and other funny moments and if you like watching horrormovies and sharkmovies, I recommend you to watch this one, oh and that song, Sharknado, is catchy as hell!
